AudioStoa 5

This week's program features readings from Epictetus' Discourses I.5, "Against the Academics". The Academic position Epictetus is railing against is a form of scepticism, which might surprise some, and so I briefly explain how such a position was conceivable. You may download the episode here or subscribe to the podcast here.

Dear J.

I just discovered Audiostoa a few days ago, and I really enjoyed it - keep up the good work!

As it happens, I've just written a rather long article on podcasting and its potential to revolutionize higher education (particularly classics), on my blog, Memento Vivere. I think you might enjoy it.

Yours,
Rob

Thanks for your kind comments and for mentionning me on your blog, Rob.

I'm a bit wary of trends, and podcasting might very well just be one of these, but as long as any technology has any kind of mass appeal one can only hope that it can be succesfully used for some edifying purpose, above and beyond sheer entertainment value. Hopefully AudioStoa provides a little bit of both.

Cordially,
J.
